Tenacious Friends

Soul Connections

TENACIOUS TUESDAY ~ A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to get to do some photos for my website with some of my favorite students and friends. This is one of my favorites from the shoot because these ladies are among a small but mighty group of women that have been by my side through the hardest times in my life and eager to celebrate during the greatest moments. And I’m forever grateful.

Although we have much greater visibility into each other’s lives today through social media and digital communication, there is an increasing disconnect between people. Loneliness and depression are on the rise and FOMO (fear of missing out) is no longer silly slang, but a legitimate anxiety inducing disorder. The lines of real life versus fantasy are becoming a hazy blur.

Yet a few moments face to face or even spoken over the phone with a friend can lift even the weariest if spirits. Our souls need connection, real connection. We all need a tribe of our own trusted and truest people who have our backs, share our victories, shoulder our tears and tell us what we really need to hear because they know us best.

Take a moment today to look to your left and your right and see who is really standing with you. Honor those that mean the world to you with a phone call or face to face over a coffee or on a walk. Be truly present with them, even if just for a few moments. At the end of the day, these are the moments that matter most. #betenacious #native_or_not #teaminspiration #yogimamma #cancerwarrior
